Successful Networking Event: "We can still learn from each other."

On March 21, 2019 international prospects, customers and experts from the automotive sector came together in Birmingham.

They discussed the current and upcoming challenges of the automotive industry. The exchange during the International PLATO Network was based on hands-on presentations by speakers from Caterpillar, Johnson Matthey, Alexander Dennis and the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders).

Gary Baker from Johnson Matthey started with an exciting talk about the connection of rules and guidelines with the human factor: "From Compliance to Culture". his was followed by a contribution by Brian Mcilwaine from Alexander Dennis, who contributed with his topic "The Power of Controlling Data" to the professional exchange in dealing with internal and external security requirements in companies.

After lunch, Iain Giles-Brown from Caterpillar used the International PLATO Network as a platform for his topic „Building Relationships from QFD to Test“. Finally, the participants were briefed by Adam Woodward, engineer at SMMT, on the current state of the automotive industry with the presentation "IATF 16949 Global Nonconformity Analysis and Links to Risk Management".
